abstract
The average sedimentation rate of Greifensee has been evaluated by using varve counting and 210Pb and fallout radionuclide dating from 4 different sites in the lake, to amount to 0.14 0.02 g cm-2 yr.-1. The geochronology of Greifensee agrees with previous dating attempts based on varve counting of sediments from the deepest part of the lake (Emerson and Widmer, 1978). A simple erosion model for substances derived predominantly from the drainage basin can explain the inventories of the natural and fallout radionuclides in the lake sediments. 1987.
