BAYESIAN APPROACH TO HYDROLOGIC TIME SERIES MODELING. Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • The research work described had two objectives. First, to develop a procedure that explicitly accounts for the parameter uncertainties in water resources planning; and second, to investigate the use of regional information in conjunction with the historical record to reduce the parameter uncertainties. Bayesian procedures were applied to the following hydrologic time series models of annual streamflows: Independent Normal Process; Independent Log-Normal Process; First-Order Normal Autoregressive Process; and First-Order Log-Normal Autoregressive Process.
