abstract

  • Researchers have genetically engineered maize (Zea mays) plants to produce trypsin that is functionally identical and physically similar to native bovine pancreatic trypsin. Results indicate that production of trypsin by transgenic maize represents the first large-scale commercial product from transgenic plants.
