abstract
New level schemes of [Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented] are proposed from analysis of the gamma data from [Formula Presented] spontaneous fission in Gammasphere. By analogy with the [Formula Presented] even-odd isotones [Formula Presented] [Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented] spins and parities were assigned to the observed excited states in [Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented] Level systematics in the [Formula Presented] even-odd isotones from Gd [Formula Presented] to Te [Formula Presented] are discussed. The level systematics and comparison with neighboring even-even isotopes indicate that quadrupole and octupole collectivities play a role in [Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented] From Gd [Formula Presented] to Te [Formula Presented] increasing excitation energies of the [Formula Presented] states and lowering relative intensities of the positive-parity bands in the [Formula Presented] even-odd isotones may indicate that the octupole strength is becoming weaker for the isotones when approaching the [Formula Presented] closed shell. 2002 The American Physical Society.
