Crosslinked hyperbranched fluoropolymer films Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Crosslinked coatings prepared from HBFP prepolymers, including their synthesis and surface properties are described. It is shown that with choice of crosslinking agent, the thermal and surface properties of the resulting crosslinked film can be controlled. The crosslinking agents chosen in this study have all decreased the glass transition temperatures. When allowing the films to be in contact with water or hexadecane over time, reorganization in the film can occur, observed by the drop in contact angle. Also the amount of swelling in water can be controlled by the choice of crosslinking agent. Analysis of the swollen domains with these amphiphilic materials by scanning probe microscopy is in progress.
