abstract
An SCK with a polyisoprene core and a cross-linked poly(acrylic acid) shell was synthesized to produce double-layered shell cross-linked knedel-like amphiphilic nanospheres. These nanospheres, which have a rigid shell and rubbery core, have potential applications as drug delivery systems. The soft core should allow for high and rapid loading release. The mechanical properties of the individual nanoparticles were examined by atomic force microscopy.
