abstract
Several microporous MOFs have been rationally designed for methane storage. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that all of them contain some nanoscopic cages suitable for gas storage. High pressure methane adsorption studies demonstrate that some of them can reach an excess methane-adsorption capacity of 220 v/v, 22% higher than the DOE target (180 v/v) for methane storage.
