abstract

  • 2014 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. Fine dust particles emitted from agricultural facilities, lands and operations are considered pollutants when they affect public health and welfare. These particles, with a diameter of 2.5 (PM2.5) and 10. m (PM10), are regulated by government agencies. Emission of PM2.5 and PM10 can result from high winds eroding agricultural lands, tilling soils and harvesting agricultural crops, processing agricultural products, and trafficking from livestock. Information in this article focuses on dust emission rates from various agricultural sources and best management practices to reduce emissions from these agricultural sources.
