abstract
Virial expansions for the properties of a dilute gas within a spherical cavity and a parallel-plate micropore are developed, and calculations are presented for the second virial coefficients of a Lennard-Jones gas that interacts with the walls of a spherical cavity and a slitlike pore by a Lennard-Jones potential. The second virial coefficients of molecules within spherical cavities and parallel-plate micropores are expressed as single integrals involving Fourier transforms. 1988 American Chemical Society.
