It is shown that the superconducting transition temperature and critical current of thin vanadium films are increased when electron donors are deposited on the film surface and decreased when electron acceptors are deposited, the absolute magnitude of the change being ˜0.1 °K in both cases. Preliminary work with indium films indicates that acceptors decrease the transition temperature and critical current, but that donors do not increase them. © 1967, American Chemical Society.
