abstract

  • The effect of the presence and magnitude of the displacement between the wellbore and the fracture on wellbore temperature behavior after fracturing was investigated. The observed results elucidated the 'warm noses' on shut-in temperature logs run after a fracture treatment and, more generally, gave an enhanced technique for explaining fracture height from temperature logs.
