abstract
Looks at the problems and uncertainities inherent in the transport of nuclear wastes, and observes that the chances of an accident in road shipment were higher than for rail shipment, but more serious accidents could occur on rail. The number of fatalities arising from any accident should be small. The costs of running special trains would be exorbitantly high in terms of safety gains. -T.O'Riordan
