abstract
Radium retention in beagles given multiple injections of the radionuclide has been found to vary as a function of dosage level and age of exposure. A consistent mathematical formalism has been presented to describe variation of retention with age at exposure in beagles and humans. On the basis of beagle-human comparisons of kinetic parameters, exposure-age-dependent, interspecies scaling factors for percentage of injected activity associated with bone have been estimated.
