abstract
In order to fully satisfy the integration of Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) in an advanced automated manufacturing environment, an activity-driven, object-oriented (ADOO) automatic product shell is introduced to facilitate data and knowledge encapsulation toward integration of manufacturing system activities. This product shell is implemented on an HP/UNIX system within an X Window environment using the C++ language and CLIPS to manipulate solid modeling with I-DEAS software.
