Pulse-burst laser system for high-speed flow diagnostics Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • 1996, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. All Rights Reserved. We present a new high-speed imaging system consisting of a pulse-burst Nd:YAG laser and a 1 MHz rate CCD framing camera with integrated, on-chip storage. The laser is capable of creating a train of between 1-99, 5-100 nsec duration pulses, with interpulse separation as short as 1 microsecond. We present data on system performance, and a demonstration of high-speed imaging in a Mach 2.5 boundary layer.
