We report the use of the PHANTOMM flow tagging technique to obtain quantitative velocity measurements in free falling water droplets and in electrobydrodynamic Taylor cones. A simple ray tracing procedure is outlined to remove the geometric distortion caused by the droplet curvature. Uncorrected, this distortion is shown to cause errors in both velocity magnitude and sign.
