abstract
We combine techniques of high-resolution absorption spectroscopy and laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy to study electric-dipole allowed -transitions in rubidium molecules. By using a tunable diode laser, we excite several selected transitions between rotational sublevels of ground and excited electronic states and record the fluorescence spectral lines. We discuss the possibility of creating a rubidium laser based on the observed molecular transitions.
