abstract
This paper presents new correlating parameters for boundary-dominated, constant rate production from multilayer reservoirs. These parameters allow us to model well responses for multilayer systems having equal and unequal fracture lengths and boundary sizes, with equivalent single-layer systems. The paper also shows how we can use an equivalent skin factor in a single-layer model to simulate a multilayer reservoir with unequal positive skin factors in different layers. The paper includes a field example in which we applied the correlating parameters to a well producing from multilayer, tight gas sands in the Carthage Field.
