abstract
This paper presents a new analytical model for interpreting pressure transient tests for wells producing from dual-porosity reservoirs. This model includes unsteady-state matrix flow and incorporates the effects of wellbore storage and skin. The model is applicable to bounded as well as infinite-acting reservoirs. This paper presents complete data for three buildup tests run in the United States and Europe. Application of the new model to analysis of these data is discussed and compared to analysis based on type curves which assume pseudo-steady state flow in the matrix and to analysis based on unsteady-state matrix flow but excluding wellbore storage distortion of test data.
