abstract

  • This paper investigates the signalling framework, based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), needed to interconnect the Emergency Services IP Network (ESInet) and the Public Safety Broadband wireless Network (PSBN), which has an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core. The purpose is to transfer an IP-based emergency call (or a Next-Generation 9-1-1 call) from an emergency call center to the first responder, with supp ort to any type of media, such as audio, video, and telemetrics data.
