abstract
The flow behavior and mixing characteristics of a 5-cm cocurrent air-water bubble column were investigated using the steady-state, point-source tracer injection technique. Axial and radial tracer-concentration profiles were measured at various gas and liquid velocities. The liquid-phase dispersion coefficients, characterizing the extent of mixing, were estimated by interpreting the data in terms of dispersion models. Radial variations of the effective axial dispersion coefficient were also determined. 1971, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
