abstract
The N 1s photoionization of NO2 in the shape resonance region was investigated. It was confirmed that the shape resonance appeared only in the A1B2 transition. The measured partial cross sections of the 1A1 and s3sA1 channels were found to exhibit maxima at the photon energies of 416.3 and 415.9 eV. The potential for the 1A1 N 1s-1s state was overestimated by the single-channel approximation. A possible role played by interchannel coupling between the two 1A1 and 3A1 target states and possibly with additional excited target states was also presented.
