Molecular frame photoelectron angular distributions (MFPADs) contain information about both the initial and final states of the molecule and the photoionization dynamics. In this paper, we explore qualitative features of MFPADs given simple assumptions about the bound states involved in the photoionization process and about the scattering process. 2004 Elsevier B.V.
