abstract

  • Synthesis of 1,8-diborylnaphthalenes by the ring-opening reaction of a new anionic boron-bridged naphthalene derivative was studied. The reaction of the derivative with dimesitylboron fluoride led to the formation of a precipitate that can be recrystallized. The NMR spectroscopy revealed the existence of a symmetrically substituted naphthalene ring and a unique mesityl environment.
