Performance characteristics of the barrel cyclone Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Cyclones are used as primary particulate abatement devices in many agricultural processes. The goals of this paper are to address the development of design criteria and to compare emission concentrations, pressure drops, and cut points of a new barrel cyclone with traditional 1D3D, 2D2D, 1D3D with a 2D2D inlet, and 1D2D cyclones. Fly ash, corn dust, and high lint cotton gin trash were used to test the performance characteristics. The Texas A&M Cyclone Design Process was used to develop the design parameters for the new barrel cyclone.
