Simulation of sulfur-iodine thermochemical cycle coupled to nuclear heat transport system Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Amongst various thermochemical water splitting processes the Sulfur- Iodine hydrogen production process (SI cycle) is currently the leading candidate. The simplified modeling of the SI cycle and the main chemical reactions are modeled with an appropriate simplification. A simulation methodology to interface the heat transfer from nuclear reactor heat exchanger to the chemical reactions accounting the sensible heat, evaporation process, and heat of reactions is presented. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2006 AIChE Annual Meeting (San Francisco, CA 11/12-17/2006).
