abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a discrete ordinates method for solving the Fokker-Planck equation. This equation represents an approximation to the Boltzmann transport equation that is valid whenever small-angle scattering is predominant. It is shown that energy-angle integrated quantities such as energy and charge deposition profiles can be accurately and efficiently calculated for electrons. However, in certain types of problems, the number of groups required to converge the differential evergy spectra can be prohibitively large.
