Assessment of a new hip dynamometer. Academic Article

abstract

• A new system for measuring power and endurance of muscles around the hip joint is described. The system is designed to be used in a study involving patients with osteoarthritis of the hip joint. The system is compared with previous work in this field. The method of use and a study to evaluate reproducibility are described. Ten patients with osteoarthritis of the hip joint, and eleven volunteers were tested. Results show reasonable levels of reproducibility for power; endurance was less reproducible.
