abstract
The authors describe the fractal feature analysis of 3-D natural surfaces and their potential applications to biological organ modeling. A fractional Brownian function is used as a mathematical model for describing natural fractals and a fractal-based method is presented for analyzing and modeling medical images. The fractal features are first extracted from a given image; it is then modeled by using the extracted features. The method can be used for generating a high-resolution digital image from any given medical image.
