abstract
In this paper the results of a recent study conducted for FHWA are described. The objective of the study was to develop a ready reference that describes available nondestructive testing (NDT) devices and methods for use in designing the thickness of asphalt concrete overlays for flexible pavements. Selected overlay design procedures that use NDT input are reviewed, and important components related to the use of NDT data with overlay design procedures are discussed.
