abstract
Re(C6H5(CH3)2P)4(N2)Cl has been found to interact with Re(O)[P(C6H5)3]Cl3 and Re(O)(OCH3)[P(C6H5)3]2Cl2 in chloroform solution to yield equilibrium mixtures containing bridging dinuclear Re1N2ReV species. The equilibrium constant for this process was observed to be extremely dependent on the nature of the ReV complex. Infrared intensity measurements of (N2) in Re(C6H5(CH3)2P)4(N2)Cl and in the bridging dinitrogen species were determined and are discussed. 1972.
