abstract

• An overview is given of the application of plastic limit analysis (PLA) to estimating the ultimate load capacity of suction caissons. Emphasis is given to reviewing the assumptions and outlining the analytical framework of the plasticity approach. Exmaples of plastic limit solutions of suction caisson load capacity are given.
