abstract

• Extensions of the ideas of component cost analysis have provided explicit analytical formulas which can be calculated for a large number of modes to determine the critical modes as well as the critical parameters of the structure. These results show which parameters are most offensive from a quadratic performance criterion. This information can be useful in the redesign of the structure, redesign of finite element models, and parameter estimation.
