abstract
The numerical method for the solution of the partially-parabolic Reynolds equations, being developed by the authors, has been extended and applied to calculate the flow over the stern and in the wake of double models of ship hulls. The results are compared with the available water-channel and wind-tunnel data to illustrate the capabilities of the method and, at the same time, point out the major difficulties not only in the development of comprehensive numerical methods but also in assessing their performance.
