abstract

• A bovine genomic library was screened with a 2.3 kilobase (kb) human HSP70 cDNA probe. A recombinant phage containing one complete HSP70 gene and a portion of a second HSP70 gene was isolated. Both HSP70 coding regions showed high DNA and deduced amino acid sequence homology, chromosomal location, and gene arrangement; we conclude that these sequences are from the bovine homologues of human HSP70-1 and -2.
