abstract
The reactions of I2 with phenazine (PH), acridine (AC) and hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) have been investigated by resonance Raman and farinfrared spectroscopy. The results indicate that the species (PH)2I+I3, (AC)2I+I3 and (HMTA)2I+I3 are formed. However, the 1:1 adduct I2. PH is also produced and this can be obtained in relatively pure form by recrystallization. Copyright 1986 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
