Enhancement of field generation via maximal atomic coherence prepared by fast adiabatic passage in Rb vapor Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • The fractional stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP) in a Rb vapor cell to generate maximum coherence between Zeeman sublevels was discussed. An enhancement of coherent Raman scattering under the condition of maximal coherence prepared by fractional STIRAP in agreement with the numerical simulations. The intensity of the signal pulse depended quadratically on the density of Rb atoms. The possibility of increasing the sensitivity of coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy by preparing maximal atomic or molecular coherence using short pulses was found.
