abstract
An anisotropic photonic crystal was produced and studied its nonlinear optical response and symmetry by means of optical harmonics generation. The results shown not only demonstrate the possibility of fabricating anisotropic photonic crystal in a relatively inexpensive manner, but also the significance of photonic band structure for nonlinear optical processes. This paper provides with a new simple recipe to affect (3)nonlinearity and its symmetry in silicon-based structure.
