abstract
A method is described for obtaining online data from a continuous-wave (analog) ultrasound Doppler velocimeter in digital form. The approach makes it feasible to utilize these velocimeters as a front end to effectively reduce a digital Doppler ultrasound unit. Blood velocity/time waveforms from the lower limbs have been measured and used to assess the state of the peripheral circulation. Using an IBM-AT computer and Hewlett Packard digitizing oscilloscope, Doppler waveforms have been acquired, digitized and stored.
