abstract
The fluorescent dextran, Fluororuby, was injected into either the hindlimb or forelimb sensorimotor cortex to label corticospinal axons projecting to corresponding regions of spinal cord. In the rostral cervical spinal cord, labelled axons projecting to the lumbar or cervical grey matter were intermingled randomly. We conclude that there is no topographical organisation of the corticospinal tract in the cervical spinal cord.
