abstract
Transmission and reception of electrical pulses using exponentially tapered slotline antennas are investigated. The slotline antennas are fed using broad-band coplanar waveguide-to-slotline transitions, and achieve a return loss of better than 10 dB over a very wide bandwidth of 0.5 to 6 GHz. The received pulses closely resemble those transmitted, demonstrating the wideband characteristics of the antennas and their usefulness for pulse applications.
