abstract
Compact band-pass filters having a bandwidth of multiple octaves are described. The filters consist of short-circuited spurline resonators approximately a quarter-wavelength long. They were realized using microstrip lines and tested with less than 1 dB insertion loss, and the measured results agree with the calculated performance. The developed filters are attractive for wide-band microwave integrated circuits (MIC and MMIC) due to their compactness and wide bandwidth.
