Tsunami Inundation Maps Development and Continuation of the Meteotsunami Characterization for the GOM Grant uri icon

abstract

  • The main objective of this project is to continue the development of tsunami inundation maps activities for the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). We had achieved substantial covering of major GOM's community/centers with tsunami inundation map developments. In the last FY19 we started developing tsunami maps on small communities that have been left out during our past maps developments. During the FY20 we expect to cover two small urban areas along the Florida West Coast . These urban areas include Bocagrande, Captiva Island, FL (first community set), and Don Pedro and Marco Islands, FL (second community set). We will use 1/3 arc-second resolution Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) for the map development.
