abstract
A novel approach for the automatic tuning of continuous-time filters (CTFs) is introduced. This approach uses a charge comparison principle for the tuning of the pole frequency (0) and the pulse response of a biquadratic filter for tuning the filter quality factor (Q). Both frequency and Q tuning are performed at lower frequency than the pole frequencies. Thus, these techniques reduce the tuning signal feedthrough in bandpass filters. The Q tuning include the filter high-frequency effects. Simulated results and breadboard experimental results are presented and discussed.
