abstract
A technique for controlling circuit parameters based on an efficient dual-tone multiple-frequency (DTMF) method is presented. Only two filters with a timing circuit are required instead of the common seven bandpass filters to identify a valid tone pair. The proposed DTMF receiver circuit architecture using very-low-power-consuming devices is described. Filters using operational transconductance amplifiers operating in the weak inversion region with a power consumption of less than 2 mu W are implemented in this architecture. The circuit is being fabricated in CMOS monolithic form with the experimental results to be presented as soon as they are available.
