abstract
An analysis of an electromagnetic wave penetrating a thick conducting screen through a slot of arbitrary cross-section and filled with inhomogeneous material is presented. The method of analysis is the newly developed Fourier transform path integral numerical scattering technique which is remarkably simple to implement but general in application. Scattered and transmitted field results are given for several slot cross-sectional shapes and containing a variety of inhomogeneous dielectric plugs.
