abstract
Two techniques are proposed to improve the performance of Turbo-coded ARQ schemes. The first technique generates a list of probable paths at the Turbo decoder output and uses the CRC check to make the final path selection. The second technique uses efficient retransmission schemes whenever a packet is deemed erroneous at the receiver. During packet retransmissions, additional pseudo-random interleavers and component codes are used. Simulation results show a decrease in frame error rate (FER) as compared to a system that uses Turbo coding with a simple ARQ scheme.
