abstract

• The idea of multi-carrier code-division multiple-access (CDMA) has recently received significant attention as an alternative to traditional single-carrier CDMA. In this paper, multi-carrier CDMA will be applied to a cellular overlay scenario which uses a fading channel model. It will be shown that the diversity advantage realized with the use of multi-carrier CDMA allows the CDMA users to lower their transmitted powers, and the benefits to the narrowband system are substantial.
