REDUCED MODEL FOR THE DIRECT COMPUTATION OF INDIVIDUAL TIE LINE LOADS AND FREQUENCY IN EMERGENCY OR AGC CONDITIONS. Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • A reduced model is introduced which retains the identity in full detail of individual tie lines and of the boundary buses where tie lines connect to the areas but which compresses the details of the areas themselves. This is the converse of the problem in the equivalency literature where the details of the local system are preserved and the outside system is equivalenced. The proposed model is useful in NY-1977 type blanket emergencies where it facilitates the prediction of the future course of frequency and tie line loads during the emergency. Such results then form the basis of emergency control actions. With this model the individual tie line flows can be easily computed. Once the tie line flows are known the internal load flow of any area is readily obtained.
