abstract
We report the on-chip identification of filamentous fungal cells in droplets using an impedance spectroscopy based microfluidic system. We successfully detected and discriminated single fungal spores and filamentous fungal hyphae in droplets using impedance spectroscopy. This microsystem can be applied for high-throughput label-free screening of filamentous fungi that plays an important role in infectious diseases as well as bioproduction, and can be readily integrated into droplet-based high-throughput screening systems.
